Korean law firm Yoon & Yang said Friday it has opened a second Seoul office in the capital’s central business district to be closer to regulators, financial institutions and multinational companies.
The new office at Seoul Finance Center near Gwanghwamun is Yoon & Yang’s first additional domestic location after more than two decades at ASEM Tower in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu.
The move gives the firm a foothold near government ministries, major financial institutions and corporate headquarters clustered around Gwanghwamun, Seoul City Hall, Jongno and Euljiro, as Korean law firms compete more aggressively for regulatory and compliance work.
“Opening the new office means Yoon & Yang can take another step closer to where our clients are,” Senior Managing Partner Lee Myung-soo said. “We will continue to expand client-focused infrastructure based on our belief that saving clients’ time is itself part of providing the best legal service.”
Yoon & Yang said the two Seoul offices will operate as a connected network, with lawyers able to work across locations through a real-time videoconferencing system. The Seoul Finance Center site also includes meeting rooms, a client lounge and flexible workspaces.
The law firm also has an overseas presence in Uzbekistan and Vietnam, with offices in Tashkent, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. In Indonesia, it operates a Korean desk in Jakarta with a local law firm.
